THE SPACE AFTER THE NEW YEAR
HI, I’M SCOTT.
If you’re returning, I’m really glad you’re here.
If this is your first time, welcome.
This is a place to slow down—especially now, when the calendar has turned but the deeper shifts are still unfolding.
WHEN THE YEAR HAS STARTED, BUT YOU DON’T FEEL “NEW”
January carries its own pressure.
The intentions were set.
The declarations made.
The momentum assumed.
And yet, you might be here noticing that nothing dramatic has changed.
You’re aware, but not certain.
Motivated, but not rushing.
Different, but unfinished.
Not behind.
Just honest.
The start of a year doesn’t always feel like a beginning.
Sometimes it feels like integration.
You see what last year cost you.
You see what it clarified.
You see what you’re no longer willing to carry forward.
That used to make me uneasy.
I thought January required action—proof that growth was happening.
But growth doesn’t always look like acceleration.
Sometimes it looks like restraint.
Sometimes like listening.
Sometimes like not forcing clarity before it’s earned.
THIS SPACE ISN’T EMPTY
It’s where lessons settle.
You’re still metabolizing what last year revealed.
Still releasing what no longer fits.
Still learning how to move forward without abandoning yourself.
This space isn’t asking you to rush.
It’s asking you to notice.
Reflection doesn’t expire on December 31.
Becoming doesn’t follow a calendar.
THE NEW YEAR IS A CONTINUATION
Nothing resets overnight.
You carry yourself forward—with more honesty, more discernment, more respect for your own timing.
Not all progress looks like momentum.
Some progress looks like choosing less.
Some looks like staying present instead of striving.
You don’t owe January a performance.
A 2-MINUTE GROUNDING PRACTICE
Sit somewhere comfortable.
Breathe:
Inhale 5 • Hold 2 • Exhale 7
Repeat five times.
Reflect:
• One thing you’re no longer forcing
• One way you’re moving more honestly
• One quality you want to protect this year
Affirm:
“I don’t need to rush my becoming.”
A QUESTION TO CARRY
What if this year isn’t asking you to reinvent yourself—but to trust the version of you that already learned and softened?
You don’t need to declare anything yet.
Until next time—be gentle with yourself as the year unfolds.
